GIG'EM!

Congrats, FBI!!!

My son just got his acceptance letter on friday. Congratulations to you.

My son hasnt been accepted yet. He's got a 4-year scholarship with the AFROTC but hasnt been accepted at TAMU yet. He wanted to go to UT>.. .but cant get them to commit. My wife.. called the Major with the AFROTC pgm at TAMU and he's going to the Admissions committe.. hopefully on monday... with a request to get him in. Crossing my fingers.

If he got a scholarship I am sure he will get into Tamu. My son didn't get a scholarship. It is no fault of his own. He started to fill out the application online but there were problems with the site so he filled out a paper application and sent it in in september. We kept getting letters that it wasn't complete. We would call and they would say it was complete. Turns out his info online was what was being pulled up by the schools. By the time we found out what the problem was all the scholarships were gone. He was applying for Army Rotc. Good luck to your son. Let us know if he got in.

My d was accepted in November and was notified last month she would receive about $60k in scholarships. (She has a likely letter from UNC-Chapel Hill and about $75k in scholarship money at Tulane. And she is still waiting on regular decisions from other schools, so I'm not sure what she will do.)

Btw...Didn't the Aggies play a great game yesterday!!! No one expected them to bring it....lol!

Just to clarify, that was for an rotc scholarship. Congratulations to your daughter. What school is her first choice?

thanks lizinva...she is torn. Carolina has always been a dream school for her and we hadn't even dared to hope since oos admission rate is so low. But the TAMU scholarship offer is very generous. I guess we'll wait and see if the UNC likely letter means what I think it means....If it does, I have a feeling it's Chapel Hill for her.

Is there any way i can still apply for fall?

I'm not sure. You might have to wait till the spring semester. Call admissions and ask them. December 14, 2005 was the deadline to apply for the 2006 spring semester. The number to admissions is 979-845-1060. Theweb address is: www.tamu.edu/admissions The e-mail adress is admissions@tamu.edu

How on earth did your daughter manage 60K from A&M?

I'm just kind of curious what earns that sort of offer from them.

My son received 72K from A&M. NM finalist, valedictorian, 1580 SAT, etc.

Wow, that's really awesome! What's he majoring in?

I missed the National Merit Semi-finalist cut by one stinking point(216)...if I would have gotten that Math problem I missed, I'd have made it with a 220. Meh, the way they do the National Merit stuff really irritates me.

Well, for me a life-long Longhorn.. it's a mixed blessing. I guess I shouldn't complain since he's got a 4-yr scholarship, but still, orange blood runs deep!

Gee.. I can hardly wait for the Thanksgiving holidays this year. With a girl at Texas (jr) and a boy at A&M (fr).. it's going to be interesting. I wonder if counseling would help.. :(

More to come!

Congratulations! TAMU is my sons first choice unless West Point comes through. We are waiting to see if he gets any money through ROTC etc. He got a 3 year ROTC scholarship from VA Tech so he is going to visit this week before he makes up his mind.
