My communication center changed to “Admit Pres Scholars” but my application tracker didn’t change yet. Does that mean I’m in?
@elmi365 that and more, it sounds like. Are you a freshman or Transfer? In state or out? Which UMN college did you apply to?
I’m a freshman applicant in MN and I applied to CLA as my first choice and CEHD as my second.
@elmi365 - and you were waitlisted from CLA on 3/17? Do you mind - what is your uw GPA and ACT/SAT? Sorry if you’ve posted them already and I can’t find them.
@JBStillFlying, I was waitlisted on 3/17 but I don’t know from which college. 3.3 UW with 25 act but come from an East African household and also first generation immigrant and college student ie not born here.
@elmi365, usually the communication center mentions admission to alternate if you didn’t get into your #1. Your stats are low for CLA but in line for CEHD so getting admitted isn’t so surprising (especially for an in-state resident) but the message certainly is. Did you check your financial aid portal to see if you received a scholarship?
@JBStillFlying, It just says “Admit Pres Scholars” but I did some research and the program says President’s Emerging Scholars benefit from a full range of services that enhance and support the academic success of students with diverse backgrounds and characteristics, including: urban students, rural students, first-generation college students, student parents, students with disabilities, students of color, older students, students who have overcome barriers that have impacted their success, and students for whom English is not their first language.
All this above pretty much fits my application portfolio.
Ah - yes, that makes sense! Congratulations on being a Presidential Emerging Scholar. Be sure to post which college you are accepted to but based on a quick google search it appears that CLA has the largest number so you may be headed there - especially as your communication center didn’t specify an alternate.

UPDATE: I’ve been accepted to CLA off the waitlist.
Still nothing but waitlist for me on my tracker and nothing in my comm center. Waitlisted in CLA and CEHD with a 3.4 UW GPA and a 28 ACT. One more week of waiting I guess 
I am also still on the waitlist for CLA and CSE. 3.6 UW GPA and 30 ACT.

I’m not trying to sound disrespectful or entitled but this whole process has really turned me off from the u of m. 3.6 GPA, 31 act, in-state, with several ap classes and I get waitlisted while people with 25s get in. Advice to next years students–apply as early has possible.
Bro, I feel you. I also have a 3.6 GPA but 30 ACT with multiple AP tests and am in-state. I applied in November and am still on the waitlist.
Its not my top choice, it probably would be if i lived closer, but i live across the country. Im most likely going to turn it down Stats: 3.4 GPA, 1290 SAT. Applied to CLA and Design on Jan 1. Got waitlisted like a week before March 31st. Got accepted of the waitlist yesterday.
