Accepted

Good luck to all still waiting.

I hereby officially, utterly, completely GIVE UP! :D

^Hear-hear...If I happen to "accidentally" get an acceptance letter within the next two weeks, so be it, but I accept that I'm most likely rejected, lol..

Good luck LurknessMonster and HeavenWood! I asked the UR Office of Admissions if they were going to send out any more batches of acceptance letters and he/she said they will be notifiying all applications this week and next week. All letters will be POSTMARKED on April 1st (Whether acceptance or rejection - so ultimately there 3 weeks is the latest notification date). The person I talked to hinted at the fact that there are still acceptance letters that have NOT been sent out, so there is still a chance for everyone waiting!

Check the mail everyday!

Unfortunately, the book award does not carry a merit scholarship with it, just the book.
Only the corporate scholarships (Bausch and Lomb, Kodak, etc.) carry financial awards with them.
Sorry.

D received acceptance package yesterday. Applied by the December 1 deadline and acceptance letter was dated 3/15. BTW, we live in a NYC suburb, but I don't think location has anything to do with the timing of the decisions. Good luck to those still waiting.

Nothing today...Solsek, I hope the admisions guy was being straight-forward with you, and that Rochester isn't playing some sick little game with my by purposefully waiting until the last possible week to send out my thin envelope. Oh, I really hope I'm accepted...

I also just called admissions and asked them straight out...they said they typically save rejection letters for last (it's obnoxious that colleges do that) but that "acceptances are still going out"

.............................

^^^ It is not unreasonable to send the rejection letters last. Some of the previously accepted students may decline, thus opening up spots. (For example, I declined my offer by letter yesterday for financial reasons. )
Good luck to you!

I never said it was unreasonable...it's in the college's best interest...it's just really annoying and makes you feel a lot worse...

I Got In Today!!!! Finally!!!!

Nothing today...man...I guess I have about 10 days until I can know for sure of a rejection...:(

i got in today

congrats! we are all proud of you! ^_^

For those who did not hear yet, why don't you try logging onto the admitted students website. If you were accepted you should be able to access the boards which will hopefully ease your minds. This only works if you signed up for a username to check the status of your application. The site is www.enrollment.rochester.edu/classof/2011. I wish everyone who still didn't hear yet the best of luck.

Well, I went to that site and they asked if I activated my account when I tried to log in with my app status login+password.
And so I went to 'register'.. and I registered. And then in like 1sec I got an email confirming my registration..

So basically, I think that site allows registration for everyone or soemthing..

Yeah..I think the application username/password is different from the class of 2011 username/password (at least I hope! because I couldn't log in..)

I called again today. You have to ask candid questions. Apparently, two at the least, three at the most, batches of acceptances have yet to be sent out, and both will be sent out AT THE LATEST March 29th...IE: they will most likely be mailed out before. Also, to continue the above post, I SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY doubt that you can use your old application pin to log into the class of 2011 forums, regardless of whether or not you were accepted.

I apologize to everyone on the forum. It was under my impression that students could access the forums via the username and passwords that were used to check the application status. I know that I had to reregister my distinct username and password before I could post on the boards. It was not my intention to give any erroneous information. Again I wish everyone the best of luck and I can only imagine the agony of not knowing. Best luck to everyone.

HeavenWood, thank you for calling, and thanks for sharing the info!

Yoshi, don't worry about it! :)

It's alright, Yoshi. You were only trying to help. I got kind of nervous...I was afraid that it meant a rejection! Anyway, congratulations again on your acceptance!
