Any one else got the phone call yet? DD was told the letter will be sent about a week later.

The only thing I don't like these phone calls is that they keep asking DD where has she also applied. DD gave the names w/o any spin.

My S missed a phone call two nights ago, and we were all gone last night. Maybe they'll reach us tonight. What else was in the phone call?

^^From what I heard, they asked if DD has applied any Early, they ask if DD has put OSU as #1 in her NMF document, they ask what does OSU rank in DD's list etc.

The caller did not want to talk to any one else except the applying student. All questions are there to gauge if DD is really interested in OSU. On the other hand, the caller did not express any special interest nor desire to pursue DD to OSU.

My heart just sunk after reading Toledos post

I would think it would be best to be honest, to some degree with the person on the phone. If OSU's not your first choice, you might as well tell them. I think that would make them more likely to use $$ to convice you otherwise.

just to give an update. The letter for honor program is already here.

I got home early today. Will give more details after DD open the letter.

Scout, your GPA is higher so you may be o.k. I was going to suggest Indiana, but it looks like you're already accepted, which is great. This 3.0, 23 ACT kid has applied at Indiana, too.

As far as feeder schools, there really isn't much of a choice, is there? Don't you think that the Indiana is most similar to OSU? You could transfer to OSU from Indiana almost as easily as from Toledo or Bowling Green.

Just got accepted into honors program...Not sure why everyone else got called about it though (i just got a letter in the mail).
Couple questions...
the letter made a big deal about honors program housing, is it really that great?
it also said most honors program undergraduates get some form of merit aid, anyone know how much I should expect?
Also, to anyone at osu in this program, is it worth it to go into it, or is it a massive workload and no fun?
If I go into the honors program and don't keep above a 3.4, do I get kicked out of the university or jsut the honors program? And if just honors program would I still get to keep the merit aid?
But ya, also, anyone have any clue why I didnt get called for my initial acceptance or for the honors acceptance? Probably not a big deal, but I think a phone call would be more exciting then a letter.....

and ya to toledo, I would definately rather go to IU than to a "feeder school" don't know why anyone wouldn't go to IU its a great school, and you could definately transfer into OSU from it

OSU has been my first choice... Since I was 6 lol

That doesn't mean you, or anyone should chance going into a feeder school when you could go to a great school like IU.

Scout: what other school did you apply to and what have you heard back

Indiana-Accepted
Ohio U.-Accepted
Arizona-Accepted
Arizona State-Accepted
South Florida-Accepted
Maryland-Still Waiting
South Carolina-Still Waiting

I mean... I will visit my other options, but if I get in to OSU i'm sending in my deposit the second that I got accepted

all of those are great schools. I have alot of friends at OU and a couple at south carolina. They say they love it. I believe i remember you saying you were in-state for osu, right? I don't think it should be a problem if you have gotten into all these other out-of-state schools plus OU. Obviously, you have something going for you

I got the phone call and they didn't ask me about NMF. I also said that I wasn't sure where I was going to go, and told them that I had applied elsewhere. I thought that I didn't want to sound too interested(OSU is my 1st choice), or else they wouldn't bother with scholarships. I hope it was the right choice.

Hey beach, i had this in my own thread too, but why do u think they don't call my house? I mean... Seeing as i got in the honors program you would think they would have called at least once, right?

And ya, OSU is not my first choice (although its up there, especially since I got into the honors program). Even if it was, i would do exactly what you did. Play it off as if you arent sure, interseted, but also interested elsewhere. Which is what i will do if they ever get around to calling me.

Scout-

when did you recieve your OU decision? I'm pretty confident I'm in but havent gotten any mail and their app status page really isnt much.

scratch that- just checked the app status and im in. (for OU that is)

I'm OOS actually
