Son received his acceptance letter- OOS. We're very happy.

Hoping for some good merit award as centennial scholarship but as they state, it can vary significantly and there's no way to know how they determine the amount of the award as far as we can tell.

Looks like it is in the running and may be a good fit for him (as are other schools he has applied to so we'll have to see what happens.

I heard as well! Very excited although I am not sure about whether I will attend! I was wondering about the Centennial Scholarship since although I am receiving it I won't find out the amount until April! I guess it is partially based on the FASA?

I know it is supposed to be based on merit but I was told I will not find out the amount until they send me my financial package in April. By then they will have my financial info. It would be nice to know how much I am getting. Does anyone know the average amount awarded?

some friends have been accepted already. i submitted my info on saturday (i should have done it earlier, but URI is like my easiest safety so i'm not that worried. especially seeing as we dont find out about the Centennial until April, and i'm like 99% sure i'm in)

i want to know if i have a shot? I havea 2.9 gpa, SAT: 1700, math:560, Reading: 500, Writing: 640 but took December ACT and I think I outperformed my SAT score. Also have lots of ecs, over 200 community service hours, coach youth basketball team, cofoudner of red cross club in my school, teach karate classes, tennis team for 3 years, speech and debate club, 3 aps, Macroeconomics: 4, US history: 5, Bio & Pysch taking this year. Took all regualr classes frosh year but took 4 honors sophomore year and 2 ap 3 honors junior year and 2 ap 3 honors this year. had a2.7 end of sophomore year and brought it up to a 2.9 junior year.

I was accepted to the engineering...its my safety so I'm not super excited, but it was good to get my first acceptance letter! I have to see financial aid and honors program stuff first, but thats not till aprilish bleh

I am a freshman in college, not attending URI, and I received the centennial scholarship from them. It was $8,000 a year, but I believe you had to maintain a 3.0 gpa. Hope this helps
