URM minority? (not sure)

This is odd. I'm looking through these stats and there are many high ones. Most SAT scores are above 1350. Is Tulane a more sought after school than I thought? I applied with that Personalized Application because well it's free and easy and I wanted a self-esteem boost before applying to MIT, Rice, and Harvard. I think that might be the situation with many of the people on this thread. They just want a back-up school and voila! easy app and somewhat recognizable presige.

Anyway, I applied and got in and got some scholarship worth most of the tuition if not all. Stats: got accepted EA to MIT! ACT-34, NMSC Semi-Finalist, 1/290, 3 EC's

Tulane gets really high scores

It is a jockish/party school from what I have heard from a few who go there.

MY assumption would be that they have really smart kids who excel on the standardized tests, and don't always do so great on grades, and like to party a lot.

If you want to party, might as well do it on Bourbon St. eh? ;-)

1390
95.5
top 10%
decent EC's

got in EA

Just wondering, how many acceptees are minorities on this board?

I am a minority who got in. I did the personal application. I had (at the time) a 1250 SAT and a 4.24 GPA. Good ECs.

Most Tulane partying doesn't happen on Bourbon.

The Boot!! Right Rico?

I mainly used that as an example for those who know little about Nawlenz. It is a recognizable name. I know most are not going to know what The Boot is

Definitely minority - Mexican American , I venture to say probably like you Miguel.

Bourbon Street is gross. New Orleans has SO much more!!!

Yeah,Tulane parties happen on Broadway,haha.

QUESTION!

I apologize in advance if this has already been asked on this board or even in this thread and I missed it, but does Tulane require Mid-Year Reports for those who have already been accepted?

Thanks!!

i think only end of the year reports

Go to Tulane web site and open the application. On the Midyear Report it reads as follows at the top of the page:

"Please return this form (along with applicant's most recent transcript) by February 15th."
The guidance counselor completes it and sends it in w the 7th semester transcript.

Not sure I agree with you, Tabbyz.... I just looked at S's acceptance letter, which came with a sheet of "what do I do now?" info. It stated quite clearly that all that needs to be sent is a final transcript at the end of the year. I think the midyear report is for RD applicants, not EA or ED.

Hmmm! Wonder why it did not point this out? I went back and looked at the application page. No mention of RD, EA, or anything else. Confusing, isn't it?

i applied to tulane as a backup, but was expecting to be in their average range.

High Ranked HS

...i don't know if your particular school of choice within tulane will affect your decision. i received DS and applied to the school of architecture.

accepted -- 1370 around 3.2 gpa all honors and ap courses (unweighted) many extracurrics
