Account Balance on Albert

Registration and Services fee. You will be charged for that every year,I believe.

LAME! I know that they have to assign a lot of people to dorms, but they should look at what they're doing. Not putting people in LCT's who need them and then turning around and putting people who don't want them, in them is ridiculous.

I just got off the phone with the housing dept. While the nice person I spoke with would not say anything definitively, she did tell me 'not to worry' about my plea to have my son assigned to LCT. I mentioned that there was a message board I read and there was discussion that the housing assignments were somewhat random. She say 'college confidential"? I said yes, so someone there is reading this board

ahhh mine says Weinstein next to my Housing now!!!! woohoo!!

My son's now says Rubin. Housing 4300 per semester instead of 5795.

It's the most expensive of the 3 LCT options, but I'm still happy about it.

But he asked to room with 2 people, I guess he'll only have one roommate. Woulda really been happiest with the Rubin LCT at 6190 for the year.

I guess you're all in explorations floors...? Because mine still has the 5795 figure.

Where are you guys checking this? Do you have a housing tab in NYUHome?

I just checked today and I was put in Rubin, my first choice. Niiiiceee!

"Where are you guys checking this? Do you have a housing tab in NYUHome?"

Just do this to check your room:

Log in to NYUHome, Click the "Academics" tab, Log into Albert, Click "Bursar,"
then click either "Current Activity" or "Last Bill" since it will be under one of those. If it still says "estimated charge" for $5795, then you haven't been assigned yet. If you have been assigned, it will say Housing-(whatever dorm you're in).

I didn't sign up for explorations and my assignment is up.

Is it weird if our payments outweigh our charges?

sueinphilly, i'm pretty sure 4300 a semester isn't LCT...that's what I payed last year for a regular room. LCT would be less than 3000.

even the regular rooms in Rubin are considered (at least by me) to be LCT. The next step up in price is close to 11K per year, so 8600 is better than all but the triples in Hayden and Rubin.

oh, okay. well, technically, it isn't LCT. but it is a lower cost than others (which is why I also chose Rubin my freshman year!)

Rubin and Brittany are cheaper than all the rest, and also have the rates used in the "Expected Costs" figures the office of Financial Aid puts out. My D can sweat for a few weeks to save a few thousand dollars.

TRUST ME. She won't be sweating. They put fans in all the rooms in Rubin (not sure about Brittany) and I actually found out that later in the year i was lucky to be in Rubin (temp. wise) b/c NYU students don't control their heating/air conditioning. Therefore it is hard to regulate a perfect temp. So, when other people complained about their rooms being too hot b/c of the heaters, I always felt fine b/c I still had the fan. Of course, quick solution for anyone else is to buy a fan. But I was never uncomfortable temp wise as long as I had my fan :)

^^you didn't name it, did you? The fan i mean. lol

no, i knew i would have to leave on day so i tried not to get attached. you know how it is. air-blowing devices and all...

They're all blowy and cool. Untrustworthy and fickle is what they are- NYU i mean. lol
