Accounting at UF

I have my preview in a couple of weeks and I am thinking of majoring in accounting. Ultimately, I wish to enroll in the 3/2 program to get my masters in accounting which would satisfy the requirements to sit for the CPA exam.

So, I am looking for some feedback from anyone who is or has majored in accounting -- is it more difficult/easy than most legitimate majors? is the work time consuming but not overly difficult, or quick but difficult to understand? which classes are the "weed-out" classes?

Any other information is welcomed.

I am not an accounting major but I do know three. One complete the 3+2 program and another is doing regular track. The last is struggling with it right now. The two that are successful are doing great in the major and have internship offers every summer. One thing I hear is that the major is not easy and it will take some work to be successful in it.

What I do recommend is that you email one of the officers on the Fisher School of Accounting Council, preferable the president, because they will probably know the most about the major. http://www.union.ufl.edu/involvement/search/orgdetail.asp?org=FISHER+SCHOOL+OF+ACCOUNTING+COUNCIL
