I know a nice young woman, 16, who is an A student, very good work ethic (helped me with childcare/errands) who loves math, history and English and would like to be an accountant. She only likes small schools though, more LAC type environments and I wondered if anyone had any suggestions in the northeast of places to look. Our state school has a good program but is very large. She is also first-generation and bi-racial if that mattered at all.

My family all were drawn to social sciences...thanks for any advice I can pass on.

Thanks, I know she isn't a partier and said she would prefer a non-frat school, but if the percentage was small, it wouldn't matter. I'll pass on the names.

University of Northern Iowa is a centralized campus with 11-13,000 students. They boast a graduate CPA passage rate of nearly 80% on first attempt. All of the major accounting firms recruit heavily from UNI because of the perception of a strong work ethic of Iowans. The curriculum is grueling, though. Nearly 2/3 change majors to another discipline in the first 2 years. The campus is nice and the community of Cedar Falls is amazing. Good luck!
