UCSB:
+ Has an accounting minor. Obvious plus here.
- Has a "party school" rep, which isn't attractive to employers.

UCD:
- Doesn't have an accounting minor. Obviously quite a setback.
+ Lacks the party school rep, and thus presumably looks more respectable to employers.

I've heard conflicting statements about recruiters at UCD (both good and bad) - among them that it has more recruiters than UCSB. But then again, UCSB actually has an accounting minor, which is certainly conducive to a career in accounting.

UCD:
+ I've heard it's near San Jose, which presumably has good job opportunities.
- Nonetheless, Davis itself certainly does seem "isolated". Is there actually work in a "college town", or would I have to commute?

UCSB:
+/- I'm not too sure what's the situation with UCSB's location.

Even though SB is known as a party school it's still a UC and is definitely on par w/ UCD. Really I personally can't think of a single reason to go to UCD over SB unless there was an absolute specific major you want at UCD that isn't available at UCSB, which is the opposite your case. You're still choosing between two good choices though, I would be happy at either.

^ UCSB most definitely would provide a more enjoyable college experience in terms of location. However, how are the job prospects in Santa Barbara as opposed to San Jose? Is San Jose's proximity to Davis even enough to be relevant?

San Jose is in the Silicon Valley, so I don't think you'll have any trouble finding a job. Then again, you don't have to find a job near where your school is. I think UCSB would provide the better overall college experience, though.

I actually live the silicon valley; I wouldn't say Davis's proximity to here's completely irrelevant, but there are several good colleges with business schools (stanford, u santa clara, ucb...) so companies have plenty of places to recruit. I would choose wherever you think you would enjoy yourself more, you can always move back to the bay area after you graduate if you want to work here...
