Ack! What does this mean? (Status update...)

Hey, I've been following the whole status update thing, but never had anything to say as mine stayed the same. I thought the whole status thing was just about Merit Scholarships, and my GPA is too low to be considered for one of those.

However today I was on the SC application looking for the exact information about mailing my report card, and I happened to notice that my status has now changed to "Your application has been forwarded for committee review." Is this just because I sent in my grades (online) a few days ago? Did everyone get this? If not is it good? Bad?

Sorry for my ignorance. I just feel like everything I read about the status updates was in regards to merit stuff, and things have probably changed in the last month or so.

It’s not bad, it just means the applications committee is finally getting around to looking at your App.

My son has had “forwarded to committee” for at least 3 weeks.

Not to hijack your thread. I just check the Document system and I got this list:

I don’t see any letter of rec on there. I asked two teachers and my councilor to send LoR to USC well over a month ago via mail and my other schools already received them. Is there something with it’s tracking system?

i think your secondary report is your letter of rec

Thanks, that make sense. I hope councilor’s recommendation is included in academic history then everything fits in perfectly.

What I know is if having the forwarded status is a good thing. I know there has been a lot of speculation on the meaning of certain statuses, but it seems there are less people with the forwarded status than other status. And in the case of acceptance, there will only be about 20%-25% of apllicants that are accepeted. And it seems that there are about 25% of people with the forwarded status. What I’m trying to say is that I think having the “forwardded” status means that you are heading in the right direction. Just a thought.

That’s my hope, but I really think I’m overthinking this…

do you guys have the forward message?

I just got it last week

Does it mean anything if boxes for rsvping to admitted student events and also for putting down a deposit appear? These popped up late Friday so we are hopeful but nothing has come in the mail yet. We do live quite far from USC.

^^I would imagine that’s good but where are you seeing that, is it on your undergraduate application page (the page that has the application status)? And also, what does your status read?

I just checked and it current has the being reviewed status but at one point last week it did have the forwarded status.

The boxes appear on the admissions page that used to only have boxes for application and admissions document and one also appears on the event page. (after I sign in I click on the admissions button at the top)

When my son went through the process 3 years ago, we didn’t know that you could check the status online and I think it was better that way!

I had the “forwarded” status for a month now. i wish/hope it is a good sign.

threetreasur- what happens when you click on one of the rsvp or deposit buttons?

They are active and have a submit button but my daughter is superstitious<g> about the whole thing and won’t let us do anything until official notification comes in the mail . . . I think she is being the mature one in this situation<g>.</g></g>

whats the message exactly that you have?

My status check up says that my application is still being reviewed…not sure if that’s a good thing or not because the message hasn’t changed at all…

mine changed from “your application is currently being review, april 1st” to “we have completed initial review and would like to see midyear grades” just yesterday. However, should I wait until they actually send me a letter that says the status to send because my midyear grades aren’t great?

Here is what my daughter’s received document list contains:
