ACK! What if I don't get accepted anywhere?!

This nightmare I had recently was prompted by my classmate who applied to only one school as a transfer student. He had applied to SJSU's Global Studies online program and right before he was supposed to find out if he got accepted, they told him they were shutting the program down. What should he do?

Anyway, I have these recurring nightmares that I apply to every possible UC and CSU in the state and I don't get accepted anywhere. Realistically, I plan to apply to UCLA (1st choice), UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, and CSULB.

In the situation of not getting accepted anywhere, what is one person supposed to do? Keep doing the CC thing? Are they able to apply elsewhere in a year or something?

Inquiring minds want to know...

If your GPA is good enough for the UCs, you should be able to easily get into any of the CSU schools. If you do not get into any of the schools you applied to, then just stay another year and improve your GPA.

MooseDog, really? That’s easy enough. Thanks so much. I feel better. Hahaha!

You only need a 2.0 GPA to transfer to a state school.

I’m actually planning on applying to all the schools you listed too…except for Cal being ehhh because of my GPA. You can also do TAG to UCSD and UCI so you can get in guaranteed. Or that’s what I believe.
May I ask your major?

iwillflyby: That’s the problem.

I have full 100% intentions of majoring in Linguistics and Computer Science (single program) at UCLA. It’s the only school in California to have that kind of combined program, that I’ve seen. If I don’t get in, I’d double major in either Linguistics or Computer Science – problem is, I wouldn’t know which major to apply as first. Comp Sci? Linguistics? It depends on which one I have a better chance of getting in with…

I think you should try for Cal. It won’t hurt to try.

Oh. I want to get a BA in Linguistics and Asian Language and Cultures at UCLA too. I think it’s the most relevant degree for the career I want and UCLA being “world renowned” would also help me have a better value in foreign markets. I’m aiming to teach English in Asia. I just feel like my current GPA as of the end of last spring will not hold up.
Do you know if it’s possible to apply this upcoming Fall and do two more scholar’s classes to qualify for TAP? Or if UCLA is still going to look at my GPA after Fall semester?

If you don’t get in anywhere, UCM will send you an admissions offer in June. You haven’t got much to worry about though, I imagine.

Don’t worry about it if you have above a 3.5 for comp sci (this is for UCLA)
Any other school except cal, as long as ur above 3.1, you should be ok

What is UCM?

Oh, Merced. Yeaaah, I’ll still at CC for another year. LOL

I’m not that attracted to Merced though. And they’re the only UC open for Spring transfers. Unless they revised that too.
