ACT: choosing which score to send?

<p>ok so i am junior planning on taking the december ACT. I am not sure if i will do too well on it so should i even take it or wait til the february test?</p>

<p>should I put the high school code on my test or no? if i do not, how will the school ever find out my score? will i have to request a score to send to my school after that? how will colleges get it later on when i apply in my senior year? i just do not want it posted on my transcript yet (in case i get a bad score).</p>

<p>second question: I took an ACT thru a talent search in 9th grade. If i take it in december and then again and again will colleges see that and will they look down upon it?</p>

<p>Don't be influenced by the freaks on here who hide scores and such. Colleges already know that many students hide/never report scores, so would it really be fair for them to look down on others who have all their scores reported? Plus, if colleges took into account who did better on this date and who did worse after taking it again, it would become too complicated. If you score better once, all others will be disregarded. That makes it fair for everyone. Imo you should just have it sent to your high school. I'm not sure if you can send it to your hs after approving it like you can with other universities. Trust me, it won't hurt you.</p>

<p>Yeah I just checked, you can send it to your high school, but it'll cost you 9 bucks. Just go to send score report on Actstudent.org under your profile and there should be a tab for high schools.</p>

<p>So if you really do want to approve your score before sending it to your hs you can just pay the $9 to have ACT send it.</p>

<p>I'm just saying it won't hurt you if you send it to your high school and don't do extremely well.</p>

<p>The score gets placed on your transcript. And for scholarships given at high schools, the people giving the scholarship or whatever request ACT scores from the guidance office to determine the best applicant. Anyway that's what they do at my school.</p>

<p>Unfortunately I can't post the link because you have to be logged into your ACT account to get to it. But if you want to get to it in your own ACT account, log in and then follow these directions:</p>

<ol>
<li>Click on the Send your Scores Tab under one of your test dates</li>
<li>A screen should then come up asking you which test you want to send, click on the bullet of the one you want sent. Then click on the continue tab.</li>
<li>Then a screen will come up asking you where you want your scores sent to. Scroll to the bottom and there should be a tab for high school. Click on the confirm tab and search for your high school. Confirm your school, pay the $9 fee via credit card, and the score report will be sent to your high school.</li>
</ol>

<p>In order to do this, you probably have to have taken the ACT already, so you may not be able to access that web page quite yet. But trust me, if you want to take the ACT and only report it to your high school after approving the score, you can do that with no problem. When signing up for the ACT, just click the box that says I do not authorize ACT to send a score report to my high school. If you find later that you like the score and would like to send it to your hs, you can do that w/absolutely no problem. Seriously, it's very easy and only takes a minute.</p>

<p>If you send it to your high school, but don't get a score you want on your transcript, you and your parents can get it removed. I'd send it to your high school for free, get your scores online, and then if it's horrid, get it off there. Talk to your counselor about the process, I'm sure they'll be able to help more than we can.</p>

<p>FYI, not all schools list test scores on transcripts - our huge district doesn't.</p>

<p>do they care that much about it being on the trancript or more about the official score report, ive sent mine to my school none of them show up on there anyway</p>

<p>btw, i just made an account on ACT.org and i used my admission code from the test i took in 9th grade , 2 years ago and its displaying my score of 24. Should i have not done that, and instead made another account saying ive never taken ACT before since technically 9th grade doesnt count as anything.</p>

It says high school code and i selected the I CANNOT FIND IT OR NOT ON THE LIST......and it is displaying high school code 800-000. Is that fine? Where is the box that says i do not want to send it to my school??????????</p>
