ACT hard??

Yeah, depending on year you can miss several and still pull of a 1600. I prefer the ACT, and I like how 36 is still more a rarity while a 1600 is more like uncommon, but definetely not unheard of

There are several comparisons of ACT and SAT scores available online...I think the College Board and the ACT folks have those statistics somewhere. Do a google search for ACT SAT concordance and you'll get t lot of stuff. Here's one set of stats from the College Board site comparing the old SAT and ACT:
1600=36
1560-1590=35
1510-1550=34
1460-1500=33
1410-1450=32
1360-1400=31
1320-1350=30
1280-1310=29
1240-1270=28
...
Most concordances are in the same basic range.

I've had a lot of students take both the SAT and the ACT (I recommend both tests to everyone.) I've never had a student to worse on the ACT, and they often do significantly better on the ACT. In very general terms, it seems to me that students who attend better schools do better on the ACT than the SAT. Students in less academically challenging schools do about the same on both tests.

So, take both. Send you ACT scores if they're better than your SAT scores, or send both if they're both good. You may have to send SAT scores to fulfill SAT II requirements, but you never have to send ACT scores if you don't do as well.
