Anyone do better on the SAT than on the ACT?

IDK, I am just curious. Everyone tends to think the ACT is easier. I want to read more opinions. (: Heh.

I think the SAT is easier by a long shot.

I personally believe that SAT Math is easier, maybe sometimes way easier than ACT math.

However, English, Reading, and Science were all a breeze…

I know people with:

2300 / 31
2320 / 34
2370 / 31
2200 / 29
2240 / 32
2270 / 34
2210 / 33

I did well on the SAT, but struggle with ACT science. Not planning on submitting my ACT score.

I think it all depends on how you respond to tests. My D did WAY better on the SAT. The time pressure of the ACT and the science section really threw her.

It was such a surprise because virtually everyone told her that the ACT would be easier. I think everyone is different and it’s definitely worth taking both. I would never send the scores for either test, though, until after you’ve seen them. Not worth the $40-ish savings, in my opinion.

my SAT/ACT diagnostics have generally been about equal

24/1650

26/1720

What were your scores on each??

And yeah, science tends to throw me off too. I noticed the SAT gives more time than the ACT does… And I agree with those who say that english and math is a breeze on the ACT.

How did your D score on those tests?

Why do you feel the SAT’s are that much easier? Lol.

Well its more of a personal feeling, the math (for me) tends to be easier. I also find it easier to focus when I just have to worry about three areas.

I completely agree with you.

I only ever took a practice ACT, but scored a 35 versus a 2380 on the SAT. Not much of a difference, but I just felt more comfortable taking the SAT. I much prefer alternating sections to huge blocks of time on one subject. I know that for some people there’s a huge difference in scores, but for me it was just a matter of testing preferences.

I also hear that a lot of people have trouble finishing sections in time for the ACT, so if you’re a slower test taker, you might want to consider the SAT.

That is very interesting. I am definitely considering both!! (:

See if this website can help you for SAT preps [Khan Academy](http://www.khanacademy.org/)

Thanks for the website. Seems pretty helpful!! (:

The ACT seems to be more difficult when it comes to managing your time…

Have you taken an ACT test? (practice or official)

BUMP!! (jaja finally did this)

I think it’s luck honestly…
I took the SAT in March- made a 2090 (650 cr, 760 m, 680 w, 64 e 10)
I took the ACT in April -made a 31 (31 reading, 26 english, 34 math, 32 science, 10 essay)
I took the SAT in June - made a 2120 (650 cr, 760 m, 710 w, 66 e 11)
I took the ACT the week after - made a 34 (33 r, 30 e, 36 m, 35 s, 12 essay)
I honestly believe my 34 was luck…I felt good going into the test, and I didn’t really do anything differently in terms of studying, etc. so yeah…I like the ACT reading because I am a fast reader, but not a critically analytical thinker…that’s what I believe the discrepancy between those scores comes in…but once you see a practice test for something, you know if it fits with how you think, etc. and I think the ACT might be slightly better for me, but not to the extent of scoring 130 SAT points higher…
