ACT June 2010 - Math

Nah, rhombus was in the 50s. Maybe 56?

I recall it being on the second to last page, maybe 56-58ish…

yup it was 56 then… That was another question I wasn’t sure on so it was even 44, 56, or 60. I don’t remember what I put for that question but I’m pretty sure I guessed C. I’ve gotten 3 responses :O. One person said 4 was A one said 4 was B and one said 4 was C

The choices were 2,3,4,6,8. I guarantee it.
thinking about it I’m pretty sure this was the awnser I put

I agree with UVA; those were the answer choices.

can anyone recall a hard question at #44, your really going to have to search your brain for this but #44 was a hard one… And I forgot what the question was!

Do you guys think that we can get a consolidated list here?

Plagiarism on UVA’s part! :)

Consolidated list 11/60
Rhombus inside rectangle in circle question: 4
Polynomial with root of 2: 5/4 ± sqrt(23)i/4
abs(x-1) < B: X - 1 < B and 1 - X < B
14000
10 possible ways
(-a,b)
Deviation is 15: 115
f(g(x)) - number line with holes at 0, -2
135 degrees between clock
Angle y/2
40% off then 10% off 10$: 5.4

agreed on all!

1/12 was #1
1/8 was another questoin forgot what though
edit: over y axis (-a, b)

abs(x-1) < B: X - 1 < B and 1 - X < B
are you sure about this one? I thought you switched the > so it was like
x-1<b or=“” 1-x=“”>B ? I’m pretty sure I learned this but that was like in 9th grade so I could have easily gotten it wrong
<b or=“” 1-x=“”>

Ya i got the cylinder area problem at- 20 x 3.14X 6^2 = 2260.8

2260.8/600= 3.768 or 3.8.

I won’t be sticking with this thread. If anyone has CONFIRMED answers just post them witho the consolidated list.

hadn’t done a matrix problem in 3 yrs before today but that was definitely (4,7)… anyone wanna confirm that the rhombus question was 4? if so, i got every question right

for the abs(x-1)…shouldn’t that be 1-x is greater than B?

RivalDestiny, that is exactly what I’m saying. I’m almost 100% sure it is.

@sophmoresss

I also got (4,7)

|1-x| < B

splits to:

1-x < B

and

1-x > -B
(divide both sides by NEGATIVE 1, meaning you would flip the inequality sign)
-1 + x < B
or, as the answer choice was:
x - 1 < B

Final answer:

x - 1 < B, 1 - x < B

Nope skaggs, it switches to -1+x <-B
then you have to divide to make it
1-x>B
