ACT Math

My ACT math score is basically what’s bringing down my composite score. I’ve taken the ACT 3 times and my score has been 26/26/25 and I can’t seem to raise it at all !!! My goal for december is a 28-29. What’s a good resource to help get my score up? I have the barrons 36 but I don’t want to go through it if it won’t help so feedback would be nice! Thanks

@CCSenioritis Get a algebra or geometry book from your teacher and go through it. This helped me the most and for the harder topics use ACT Assessment for Brainiacs. Got a 33 on math from 26

Here is some help for the math

60 minutes for 60 questions. You do not have to take the test in the order it is presented. EASY questions count just as much as hard questions. The math test is NOT IN ORDER from easy to hardest, but most students will find the last ten problems the hardest.

1st Sweep: PICK off the easy ones first that you can get QUICKLY (less than 30 seconds)

2nd Sweep: Do those questions that take longer but you think you can get right. Try plugging in the answer choices here.

3rd sweep: Guess! Do not leave blanks. Ever.

A SMALL mistake will lead you to an answer that seems right (but is wrong!)
The ACT is very detailed. RECHECK your answers on this section if you have time.
Cross out wrong answers. This will save you time on your second and third sweeps

No numbers in the Q or A, use your own! Just do not pick 0 or 1.

for math you need to read each question carefully and know what its asking for to get rid of those 5 silly mistakes
the questions you do not know how to do–honestly, if you do not know all the math concepts perhaps math is not your strong suit, so unless you have time to learn all the concepts then do what ^^ @HereToHelpYou said.

focus on the ones you do know how to do, and do not make some silly reading comprehension mistake in the math section.

do practice tests and whatever you get wrong, do those problems a lot. Familiarize yourself with the topics. I usually get 36 on math if im lucky but got 34-35 on the real thing. It’s not hard to improve, because unlike the SAT, math does not try to trick you.
