ACT Math

Why is the ACT math so hard? I would consider myself a good math student, but when it comes to the ACT, I don’t do well. Does anyone have any tips to get a 36 on math? My math score is ruining my composite since it’s at a 32. How do I get those last few points to 35/36? Thanks.

Do all the easy problems quickly and circle all the questions that are harder in comparison. Come back to them once you’ve done the easy ones so that you can look at them with fresh eyes and with less of a time constraint. Also, try looking at prep books and their math sections in the practice test section. If you can’t do all of the problems there in the given time, I would practice those and focus in on what exactly it is that you can’t solve of the potential math problems that will be on the test! Hope this helps!

Thanks!
