ACT or SAT?

I took the SAT and did fairly well (2120) but I feel like maybe I could do better on the ACT, based on what other people have told me about the difficulty of the tests. What did you think? Was the ACT easier? I have been deferred to RD for Yale and I think submitting the ACT in place of my SAT and subject tests will serve me well in the RD process.

Son did MUCH better on ACT's but he didn't necessarily find them easier. I think the biggest thing is that it doesn't punish you for getting a question wrong like the SAT does. It was very hard for him to leave blanks on the SAT. :-)

Some do better on ACT, some on SAT, and you really don't know until you have taken both. But how are you going to take the ACT in time to have it considered unless you have already taken it?

Yes. As long as I take it by the February test date, Yale will accept it!

If you prepped for SAT, Don't know how much prep I'd feel necessary. Apparently the science proves tricky for people, but that was S's best score. Others say schools really only look at English and Math (not reading?) but seriously, who really knows unless it's coming from admissions themselves. I do think however that there is a Jan date if I remember correctly.

haha, saxophonegirl, I just logged on to college confidential to make a post about this exact same thing, but it looks like you've done it for me, lol. But what's even more coincidental is the fact that I too have a 2120.
