ACT Prep from PrepScholar

I am looking to find a good ACT course if anyone has taken the act course can you let me know how it is.
Right now my plan is take the June ACT with minimal studying then take a local prep class that is great. The average score raise after taking the class is 4 points. After that depending on what score I am at I am planning on taking the PrepScholar course and try to raise my score another 3-4 points. However, I do not want to waste my time with PrepScholar even if I do get my money back because I have a very tough schedule next year and I simply will not have the time for it.

From a friends experience; you’re only paying for the test. The information they give you can be easily googled. Their tips and tricks are fairly basic. The only thing you are paying for are practice tests. Practicing the test is the best way to get familiar with the content and structure. This will improve your score tremendously.

The 3-4 points is the average raised score. The means 50% of people are raising their score by 2 or lower.

My friends who went to summer camps where they basically did act for 8 hours 3-5 days a week all came out with 2200 + and a 34 act. The camps are like 3-5000. I took a bunch a practice and real tests and got 33C ( 35W 34 M 30 R 33S) and 34(34W 35M 30 R 36S) Do not even waste your time with princeton review or barron’s. On barron’s “6 Practice tests” book I got an 18 on the reading. Not like the test at all. Maybe read some of the math material to review, but writing you pick up on the trends after 20 tests science is a hit or miss. You can get some random passage about astrology and have no idea what it means or know everything but skim it wrong and get a bad score. Strategy for science was don’t read the paragraphs unless it was a scientist perspective reading passages. If I saw it was this I would go to the questions number which ones pertained to what scientist then after reading each passage immediately answer those questions. I got a 33 and 36 S.
Reading I was ass at. I had no strategy and couldnt read quickly. All the answers are plot questions in the passage. Timing was the problem for me. If you can get a strategy for this you’re good.
Essay I couldn’t prep for because no one was their to grade mine, Maybe get a tutor for this but most colleges don’t care about the essay anymore. I got 21 and 27 for the writing essay.
