Have any of you used the red prep book for the ACT ("The Real ACT Prep Guide")? I imagine it would be kind of analogous to the Blue Book for the SAT. I was wondering how closely scores on the practice tests in the book, which are released ACTs, correlate with actual scores. I take the ACT on the June 9th date, and took a practice test from the book last night and scored a 35C (35E, 34M, 35R, 36S), and I was wondering how close I could expect my score on the real test to be.

Supposedly, the practice tests in the book are actual ACTs from previous years. Real tests that were administered to real ACT takers. So theoretically the scores should be very close to what you’ll actually get.

If you perform well under pressure, you may see a slight increase in your scores. Often, people don’t focus as well as they normally would for practice tests (especially those in Reading). The actual ACT Math is a little more difficult than the Red Book, though, so it really depends on your strengths and your knowledge of the given ACT.

Edit: This is the second thread I’ve brought back from the dead today… I’m sorry; I really need to check my dates.

Thank you!

Fwiw, practice tests were 35s and actual score was a 36.
