I’m almost finished with all of the tests in the official ACT prep guide (red book), and now I’m concerned that these tests are easier because they’re older. For anybody who took the real test after taking tests out of the prep guide, was the real thing harder than the book?
Nope. I found that the real thing was the same difficulty. It may seem more difficult because of the stress, but it isn’t. Good luck!
The tests in that book are easier than the real thing, definitely. This has been discussed before. Probably dedeuct 2 points from your score on them.
I’m prepping for my second ACT test and I’m using the official ACT book to prep and my practice scores were the exact same as the first time I took the test. I would say they are about the same difficulty.
Before I took the ACT for the first time, I took a practice test in the Red book the week before. I got the same score on the actual test that I got on that practice test. There are some minor differences here and there, but I think it still helps to take them for practice.
