I am applying to SCS, and i have recently recieved my act scores, i got a 34 on math, but only a 28 on english, should i retake the test or does the school of computer science only really look at the math scores

I think you’re fine. I got in with a 27 science ACT, lol, but I applied to HSS. What was your composite? I think you’ll be fine though.

If you have the option to retake it, I would, as a 28 is kind of on the low end, but really it shouldn’t be too much of a problem unless you’re a borderline candidate in other areas. If you’ve got solid scores/ECs elsewhere you’d probably be fine.

I would also retake the ACTs and maybe even try the SATs. Your ACT score of 34 on math, but only a 28 on english is probably in the bottom 25% for SCS. This is what I got:
E29
M34
R33
S30
C32

So I guess your scores “could” get you into CMU. But I got into Tepper with those scores and SCS is harder to get into.
