ACT test change on the test date (Feb. 11)

I signed up for ACT plus writing for 2/11 date, but found out that it won't be necessary for me to take the writing section. The problem is that it's too late to remove the writing section on my ACT. Do testing centers usually have plenty of extra ACT with no writing tests available on the test date? Or is it okay if I can just skip the writing section of the test and turn it in, will I get penalized for not completing the writing section? I'd appreciate your input and anyone who had experience of switching the test on the test date.

if u dont want it, u just dont write it. u will just loose the money u paid for it and that’s it

The test center I go to allows you to change over to no writing on the day of the test so you don’t have to stay the extra 30 minutes and leave it blank, but you won’t get your money back. I suggest that you just take the writing. A lot of schools do want it, even though the particular one you want to go to doesn’t. It’s only an extra 30 minutes. It’s the easiest section too, and doesn’t affect your composite at all.

thx guys for helpful info!
i’d like to take the writing, but im afraid taking writing section may delay the score report and my college is announcing the decisions in March…!
