Now, i know we're only suppose to take the SAT's 3 times, but what about the ACT's? Is there a limit?

Just wondering, who says that you should only take the SAT 3 times?

everybody says you should only take the SAT 3 times, colleges counselors, people with experience. More than 3 times and you are "obsessive"

With the ACT I don't think it matters, only your BEST SCORE will be sent to colleges, so I believe you can take it as many times as you like and colleges won't know (somebody confirm this)

Yep. I took the ACT probably 4-5 times over the course of my high school and junior high career. And the last one I took I got the highest score on (33 I like to brag). I sent the score to my top choice college about two weeks ago, and I only sent that score. So don't worry about how many times you take the ACT. Just be sure to not mark any colleges to send the scores to. So when you are good and ready you can get on ACT.org and send the score you want to the college you want, although it costs 7 dollars a school.

OK thanks a lot for replying.

I dont' get it.

What if you put the same colleges for the ones to send your scores to? And you take it like 4-5 times. Will they only consider the highest one?

bump glucose's question....

Most schools will take your highest score, but there are exceptions to everything. It's better to be safe and list no schools when taking the ACT. You can always resend those scores later if you get the score you want.

Also I forgot, be wary of your high school transcript. Everytime you take the ACT you report your high school code, this means that your high school has your scores. My high school usually attaches all the tests I've ever taken on the back of my transcript when I ask them to send my grades to colleges. I had to specifically ask my counselor to not put that on the back of the transcript.

Personally I think a school should have to get consent before releasing any information like that, but I guess they do it more for convience than for anything else.

oh well...I'll just send them then, it's free now...

Because when you sent the SAT it sends all past scores as well. When you send the ACT, unless you send them all, they have no idea if you took it once or 40 times to get your score.
