ACT Writing Subscore

Hey guys! I just got my ACT writing subscores back and it's pretty bad (it's a 7!!). The thing is, I'm actually a really strong writer (editor of yearbook, strong writing evaluations on the teacher recs, 35 on the english section on the ACT...) but I heard Penn uses the ACT writing to verify the commonapp and supplement essays. I'm afraid that they'll think that my essays weren't authentic! What should I do? Should I be really worried about it??

Well.... the thing is you are under a time restraint under the ACT writing while you can be constantly editing your essays for a vast amount of time. So I highly doubt that they use the ACT writing to judge whether or not you wrote your essays for Penn.

how about a 9 on the essay, is that also going to be considered as not being consistent with the application essays? Time pressure can really kill a real creative writer & the application essays are intended to be more creative than the Writing section.
