Ok so I've read that it's good to attach a "Resume" type thing, or activities list or chart that explains briefly but in greater detail your activities. However, how do you go about doing this with an online application? On many applications, it says it wants you to fill out the chart on the application even if you plan to attach a resume type thing, fill out the chart on the application to allow them to focus on the highlights of your activities.

So if I'm applying online would it be ok to just list the clubs and positions I held, or is it going to put me at a disadvantage to not describe in a little more detail what I did in those clubs?

no you should be fine. people that utlize the resume are those that have some spectacular ec or a really unique one.

I asked my mom and a couple of parents, and what they told me is

For standard clubs you can just like, Math Honor Society, President, or if short on space Math Hnr Soc., (Pres.), and do that for all clubs.

Then she said if its something like an eagle scout project or a club you started it, you can explain it in greater detail.

I'm just afraid that my ECs just being listed won't count as much as someone who provided a detailed explanation or attached a resume or chart. This sounds paranoid, but actually, do they really have time to read resumes? I mean, some schools, like stanford, only want the BAREBONES of it, no extra resumes. I might do just that for every school, especially since I'm applying online
