i guess the financial appeal of harvard/yale/princeton/stanford is actually having an impact

also: madmatt for SEAS and college122 for columbia college. it’s confirmed off other threads.

man, you guys are seriously lucky.. i can hardly sleep at night or think of anything else all day. i can’t stop panicking! nine people already and on CC ALONE! and assuming that this year too they select 40, could that not mean that everyone’s already selected?!?!

i wish i’d get ANYTHING of a reply.

or actually, i just wish i’d get accepted!

dwindlelights: i know you posted your stats, but can the REST of you please post yours so that we can see what it took to get in ultimately? thanks!

I think the stats do not matter so much because we are all qualified at this point. I think the school chooses from the waitlist in order to balance out the class.

Could someone make the same list for deferred students who were accepted RD ?

I agree that waitlisted student have what it takes. I think Columbia is balancing the class demographically in a range of areas. However, it would be interesting to have those accept off the list provide the following:
CC or SEAS
your gender
state
ethnicity–if you identified one
public or private HS
your intended major
misc. notes

My initial impression is that more young men have been accepted than female…but it would be nice to know where admissions saw gaps in next year’s class.

aron–were you accepted? or are you waiting as well?

My daughter is on the waitlist. I am trying to keep tabs on things to spare her the anxiety–this just prolongs the pain.

I can understand. Columbia is my first choice, and this wait is absolutely killing me. Especially since I can’t help but feel like I probably won’t get in since it seems like they’re notifying people by the minute, and I haven’t heard anything.

Oh God!

I agree with adnromeda, this feeling is killing me. the strange thing is that Columbia starts accepting people now while the letter said earliest would be May 15th. I wonder if May 15th is the date when they begin accepting people from the general pool. once again, congrats to guys who are accepted.

Hmm… I wonder what would happen if someone emailed Columbia about these waitlist accpetances and ask why the letter said differently. Any brave souls out there?

Is this apply only to “me”? anyone who don’t have this link?

https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=COL-U

I wonder if this indicate any clue for the decision

I called Columbia and the lady told me that you would be notified BY May 15th. I’m not sure if she knew what she was talking about, but that was what she told me.

im pretty sure it said that we won’t be notified until at least may 15th lol

Yeah, that is weird. It definitely says on the letter that the earliest you would be notified is May 15th.

ummmm…
I can no longer view my decision on the website.
That’s not a good sign is it?

CC or SEAS
your gender
state
ethnicity–if you identified one
public or private HS
your intended major
misc. notes

SEAS
F
Ohio

private HS

i didn’t send anything in. not a letter, not grades, not awards. weird.

CC, female, Michigan, other, public, political science.

CC or SEAS
your gender
state
ethnicity–if you identified one
public or private HS
your intended major
misc. notes

CC
Male
Connecticut
I’m pretty sure I didn’t identify, but had I, it would have been Caucasian
Private HS (parochial)
Classics
I sent in the standard supplement statement as well as a second, shorter statement containing some new developments

SEAS
Female
California
Asian
Public HS
biomedical engineering
I sent in the supplement statement.

I dunno if it’s really about filling a sort of demographic since my guess is that there are probably a lot of asian females in biomedical engineering. :P
