everyone accepted,
thanks much for the info. anyone else?

cawcaw, we’d been told that if an accepted student with a similar profile declined admission, Columbia would be looking at students with similar interests, background, etc.

but, I gotta say, with great students they cannot go wrong. congrats to all!

“We have begun to admit some students from the waitlist, but it is an ongoing process through the month of June. You should not take it as a bad sign that you haven’t heard.”

I sent in a letter talking about why I applied to Columbia and why I thought I matched the student they might be looking for and also about developments in my ecs.

i suppose that this question has nothing to do with this thread but i’m just going to go ahead and ask it anyway. does anyone know how easy it is to move from seas to cc or vice versa? i’m pretty sure i’m going to stick with my major but if i decide i don’t like it…then what happens?

Kinetoz, if it helps, I can’t view my decision anymore either. Where’d it go?!?! The link that links you to the pop-up seems to have vanished!

Mmyers, seriously, thank you for that little input. Although it doesn’t relieve me as much as it should, it helps quite a little.

I can’t believe the lady said BY may 15th! They wrote before may 15th in the letter, and I met with a Columbia official who told me they don’t start looking at the waitlisted students before mid-may in any case.

If only they’d just tell the rest of us tormented souls!

Quick question. I was waitlisted, sent an email stating continued interest and then called, the lady basically told me to be patient and that emails would come out on the 15th and that there were still spots avaliable. Then my dad, who is an alum, called the office today to put in word for me, do you think this will have any impact or could it have been a bad move? He said they weren’t at all hostile, I’m just a little paranoid I guess.

oh nahhh I called today too to get a feel of how many spots there is for the class of 2012, from what I can tell, still quite a few.

also, the lady told me that we would be notified BY the 15th on either accepted off waitlist, rejected from waitlist, or OMG extendedddd waitlist.

If i got the extended waitlist letter, I would give up my spot at the waitlist. Why would I torture myself by waiting anxiously while I can start to love the school that I have chosen and have a great last period of high school life!

tealover “also, the lady told me that we would be notified BY the 15th on either accepted off waitlist, rejected from waitlist, or OMG extendedddd waitlist”

That means the “no sooner than May 15th, no later than July 1st” no longer applies? Now it’s just “no later than May 15th”?
