<p>I'm hearing a lot of mixed opinions on which one colleges prefer. Some people on CC said that a resume looked pretentious, so I was wondering if I should do an additional essay instead. Can I hear some of your opinions?</p>

<p>Honestly I’m just writing down random stuff that I can’t explain anywhere else, such as the fact that I want to study abroad sometime during my college experience. Basically, just talk about any discrepancies you perceive in your overall application (explain them, etc.). Until someone tells me otherwise, that’s what I’ve heard it’s supposed to be for. YMMV though.</p>
<p>I’m using mine to elaborate on extracurriculars. Kinda like resume but just extra explanation behind each EC that doesn’t speak for itself. I’ve never heard of doing another essay though. I think it would be reasonable to write another paragraph or so about something if it is important, but another full essay seems like a lot to me.</p>
