Additional Teacher Recs

<p>So I noticed on the Common App that Columbia allows you to have up to three teacher recs. I also noticed that there is an "Other" section for the subject taught by each teacher. I know that it says to only get recs from academic areas, but I already have two recs from a biology and an English teacher, so would it be okay for me to get a final rec from a drama/tech theater teacher? He knows me quite well and would be able to give the reader a very different point of view.</p>

<p>Yes - I think it will help. My son had a similar situation last year and he thinks it was one of the factors in his admission since he got a very strong recommendation. It will not hurt you. They don’t encourage it as rule, but I think given the different angle that this teacher will bring, it will be a plus.</p>
