Admiralty Law

Just to keep options open for after graduation I was going to look into law school. Does anyone have any information about school that offer admiralty law? or do you have to even take admiralty law at a law school or is that something you can learn after you get a law degree?

Just checking in tos ee if ya'll were still going at it to no end.

I worked with a KP graduate that specialized in Admiralty law.
I would bet, w/ a bit of research on your part, you could find a law school that has a department specializing in such things.
Alternatively, you could take a class at probably most law schools or, sometimes, there will be summer events taht specialize in such things.

Probably many lawyers graduate from law school and then seek to work w/ a firm that specializes in such an area.
It can b e fascinating area of law; the "law of th sea" is very old and the stories of each mishap make for good reading. Throw in international treaties and, well, I can imagine that KP graduate w/ sea experience could do very well.

You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch. You really are a heel. You're as cuddly as a cactus, you're as charming as an eel. Mr. Griiii-iiiiinch. LOL Where ya been Bill? Long time no see. Not going at each other per say. Just folks generating conversation to pull out the pearls of wisdom from each & everyone. :)

gg - maybe seek out Mr. Peck. He teaches the business & martime law course. I would guess he'd have some good ideas as well. As Bill says, KP grads probably would have great insight into this type of law. Let us know if you learn more about this. Cool stuff.

Just stopping in from time to time.

Now that I think about it, my KP-graduate-maritime-lawyer friend did not spend any time in active duty service . . . I guess, like most lawyers, he "sold out" to the highest bidder.

okay . . . how about a new slogan for KP?

"We may not be a true service academy, but we provide a valuable service to the country!"

"Service. It costs money for good service!"

"A few who serve for little and many who serve for much!"

Just like lawyers . . . have gun will travel. Just a little Saturday morning levity.

Okay, now back to the original thread.

JM. You know I still love your ever-lovin, Rebecca DeMornay-duplicate, grandma-hangin, rear. Maybe someday you will send me a photo . . . .well, on the other hand, maybe not; might ruin the fantasy.

Bill, Bill, Bill. don't you start with me. Its a new year. Remember your New Year's Resolution we talked about. You were gonna take care of that little "hair" problem. I thought you looked pretty much the same from the photo you'd sent me.

Remember: Ninety -nine percent of all lawyers give the rest a bad name. :D

LOL, great photo of Bill :) and by the way, my favorite new slogan is the one about it costs money for good service....keep up the slogan writing Bill

Bill. There was a parents club meeting, and I was able to get a quick snapshot of JamzMom as the meeting was breaking up.

Please don't tell her I sent it to you. Shhhh.
Secret snapshot of JamzMom leaving parent's club meeting Very informal meeting. :)

( I am, like, SOOO gonna get in trouble for this :) )

Admiralty law is offered at many law schools. The best known/most respected treatise is Admiralty by Grant Gilmore & Charles Black- you'll probably find it at any law school book store.

AMAZING! She is almost 50 and looks AMAZING!
IF it wasn't for that darn Uma Thurman, she would completely have my heart.

OFF TOPIC! OFF TOPIC!! I'm sorry ggspin. These guys ate gunpowder for lunch again.....

I do so LOVE my ear bobs though, don't you? They were on sale. :D

ggspin: Here is a link to a great web page with lots of links (to the US Code on Admiralty law and to several international universities).
