Admission for Transfer Student

Nate_Dawg162003, that was my attempt to distract everyone.. :P

Don't shriek too loudly with what about what I'm about to tell you.

I submitted my documentation pretty late and my highschool transcript didn't arrive to A&M until March 24th (I'm from NY). As you guys know, the deadline for documentation was March 15th. So, I was just wondering if I am on Step 3 now, does that mean they accepted it or can they still reject my app because of late documentation?

I had a similar situation. I sent in a old transcript that wasn't my most current. They put me from step 3 back to step 2. After that, I called them and they got my most current transcript from my current school even though it was a day after the dealine. I've been on step 3 for a month and have had no problem simce then. If on your AIS it said incomplete or something like that then you should be concerned. Otherwise your probably good. I called about my app. and they said I was good.

Maybe your just a lucky person like me. Damn Yankee!

I was just thinking of a plot for the end of the movie mcalvelloxx....However that does sound like an interesting prospect.

Haha..
Where are y'all going to live if y'all get accepted?

I "plan" to live off-campus with a buddy from high school that goes there. I also "plan" to join the Corps, I could get housing pretty easy that way as well.

Rent a house with friends.

I say we all call admissions and come back and post what they tell each of use. I bet we all have different responses. What major did you all apply for?

ill probably be living under a bridge. At least I know they'll be a space for me there.

Hell yeah amezquita05 lets do that. BTHO lying admissions representatives!

Ok here is what I got:

"There is no place that it is located. We will review all transfer applications at the same time (by department). Decisions should go out by mid May."

-jdendy

I wonder how many "app reviewers" A&M has..

I don’t know. Mays only accepts 75 however, I don’t know how many apply. Does anyone know how many apply to TAMU as external transfers all together and how many are accepted? Or at least Mays?

By the way I called admissions today at 10:31 central and i was told, " Admission decisions for transfer applicants are made by each department and the decision of applicants who are seeking admission for fall or summer terms are made anywhere between a month to a month and a half after the deadline" I asked twice to verify.

blackag…All I know is from the reports published that Ive read…back in 2005 only 62.9% of applicants were offered admission to A&M…so I think about 3000 applied as external transfers, and about 1800 were admitted.

Now I dont know about the rest of you, but my whole family is looking at what happens to me here in the next few weeks. Im the first one of the grandkids in my entire family to attend college. This will be the second time that Ive applied and had to wait like this. I would like to know where each of you are applying into…Ill start off.

1) Engineering Technology.

Oh!!..and since im up late doing nothing here is a hint of warning to everyone here…Last semester after I applied, approximately 15 before I got my denial letter, my First AND second major choices were flipped around. This happened ** before ** my status moved from Step 3 to Step 4. I had applied for Mech Engineering first and Engineering Technology second, but as I said they were flipped so Engineering Tech was now my first choice.

I was curious as to why this happened , so I asked. Here is what I was told:

Question:
I was just wondering why my first choice was switched to my second choice. I am sure this means that I was not accepted into the first choice, but I just want to make sure this is not a glitch in the system.

Response:
When one department cannot accept you for one reason or another, then you are usually considered for your second choice major. That is why the majors flipped.

I think that this is proof that more than likely if your majors switch here in the next few days or so, its obvious you didnt get into your first choice.

But, here is something else. After I was denied last semester…I drove to A&M and spoke to the department head of Engineering Tech, and he verified that they had never recieved my app. for review…

I’ll let you guys ponder about what happened there b/c I dont know.

wow Nate_Dawg162003 after hearing your story Im definitely pulling for you bro. 2) (Mays) Marketing

They never received your app. for review?
That’s some BS.

Good luck Nate_Dawg162003!

My dad doesn’t like that I’m transferring to A&M.
He went to Berkley…pretty self-explanatory.

1) Economics (then hopefully transfer into MIS)

Had some free time so I created a facebook group :P

My first choice was mechanical engineering and my second choice was computer engineering. I checked status this morning after recent posts and my first choice is still mechanical engineering but my second choice was changed to computer science. ***? I will be calling them tomorrow.
