Admission notification for American students

Do any of you know how the acceptance rate for the faculty of engineering compares to the acceptance rate for the faculty of arts?

Did anyone from high schools out of Canada and America get accepted? I’m waiting for mine and I really want to go to McGill!!!

@chilliums check and see if the right of your status has a “view decision letter”

@mtjade‌ Yeah, got the email last night and when I checked, the View PDF thing showed up!

My mid term grades come out in a week or so and I will send them over at that point. Can they decide on an admission decision for me without my 2nd term grades, or will my 1st term grades be enough? If they are able to, how long does it take US students to hear back?
If possible could someone chance me for the faculty of arts and management:
4.2/ 4.8 GPA great public high school
2100 SAT (750 math, 720 writing, 630 critical reading)
750 math 2 subject test, 670 us history subject test
Thanks for the help!!

@ironman234 As you may know, McGill is a straight numbers school. They publish the minima for GPA and test scores from the previous year, so you don’t need people to chance you. This year’s minima could be a bit higher, but they don’t seem to have varied a lot from one year to the next, at least the last few years (which is how long I’ve been following them): http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/admissionsguide/standards/unitedstates

You mentioned “mid term grades” and I’m not sure what you meant by that. Do you mean first semester grades? My recollection is that two years ago, D1 was admitted shortly after her school sent her first semester grades.

Though Mcgill is a numbers school, I believe a chance is pertinent because those who have had any form of experience with the Mcgill admission process can give valuable input.

Does anyone know when out-of-Quebec transfer decisions normally happen? The website says that they’re sent from mid-February to May, but in transfer threads from past years the earliest I’ve heard of decisions getting back has been April. Anyone know how likely mid-February/early March notification is?

Hey guys I’ve a question about major selection. If I’m admitted to Life Sciences, and , say, I select pharmacology, am I admitted to the program, or does it depend on 1st year grades? (as in I don’t have a major 1st year and apply end of 2nd semester?)

this may be a dumb question, but on minerva it says:
Decision: “Admitted Pending Final Results”

Does that mean i’m in?!

@phlips Yes, you’re in! It just means they’ll look at your final grades and make sure you haven’t had drastic changes. Congratulations!! Are you at a US high school?

Yes I am!
I didn’t get an email and there’s no notification of a PDF letter just yet.
I submitted nov 3 and checked minerva maybe 5 times lol.
last night it said “ready to review” and today it changed! yippee.

That’s great news, @phlips – congratulations! Based on our experience with D1 two years ago, the McGill process isn’t always clear to the outside observer!

@phlips McGill seems to have a lag between updating Minerva and sending the email with the link to the PDF. I think it was nearly a week for the one person I know who applied this year.
