Do colleges accept applicants with higher GPA and academic achievement first than the ones with lower GPA and not as much academic achievement (considering the college isn't doing rolling admissions and releases decisions on a set date)?

Someone on this board (with lowish test score) recently posted that she got a notice from her safety that her application is being deferred until a later decision (this wasn’t an EA or ED situation).

So, I imagine that this college has sent acceptances to those with better stats right away. Those with lower stats will find out later.

Well the thing is, Purdue didn’t send me any notice. its simply just on there directory. But on my application status it says nothing about me being deferred, accepted, or rejected. I’m a bit worried to be honest but most have told me not to be since Purdue doesn’t let you know of there decision till December 11.

Do you know of other kids who’ve already heard from Purdue? Have you gone to the Purdue thread and asked what they typically do? If Purdue usually lets people know in Dec, then don’t worry now.

Also, if you submitted your app within the last month or so, Purdue is probably buried in apps right now.

Be hopeful, be patient…and Purdue will let you know their decision.

Well I’ve asked my friends that applied to Purdue to check there online application status and they said Purdue didn’t say anything whether they were accepted or not. And I submitted my application in the middle of August. But I talked to a person at Purdue Admissions today and he told me not to worry and to relax because they probably didn’t make a decision yet on my application. My reasoning for that is because my GPA isn’t high its around 3.3 uw. He also told me Purdue looks more for mathematics if you apply for Management of which I’m good in. Got 630 on Math section, got B- Precalc first semester and B second semester, and now taking college level Finite in which I have an A currently.
