<p>That is correct - you ARE asked to indicate your intended major but this has NO bearing whatsoever on admissions. You are applying to the university as a whole, not to a particular college or school within the university.</p>
<p>Ditto on the above. Declaring your potential major (which can be changed at any time) allows UW to choose the most appropriate advisor for you at SOAR (summer orientation).</p>
