Does having a declared major versus being undecided affect an applicant’s chances whatsoever?
No, every applicant gets admitted to the university as a whole.
No- and you can change your major at any time. Stating a major now helps in getting the most appropriate SOAR (summer orientation) advisor. Otherwise no advantage. Many/most entering college students will change their major once they experience college. UW knows this and doesn’t admit based on students trying to game the system by choosing a major they think will get them in.
Alright. Well I ended up changing from undecided to Comp. Engineering. Hopefully I get accepted so that it matters lol.
