Wow@sammeliza27! Congratulations! Can’t figure it out myself! ???hhmmmm…Good luck wherever you choose… They are great schools and I’m sure you ll do great
Accepted to SAS, 3.7 GPA 1620 SAT, soo excited, Rutgers is my top choice
Accepted into SAS back in October. Was waitlisted for School of Business. Posted my stats earlier in this thread
Accepted to SAS!!!
GPA: 3.0
ACT: 23
Other schools accepted to: Ohio State, OhioU, UNC, IndianaU, and Arizona State.
Did anyone else get “7th semester grades requested”?
I’ve spent a lot of time on a Penn State admissions board (my son was thankfully admitted) and there was a lot of discussion about trying to understand the formula used by admissions. My NJ son was rejected by Rutgers and I don’t plan on calling admissions for a reconsideration because he’s thrilled about Penn St (but I’m not too thrilled about the OOS costs from NJ!). His numbers of 3.4/1700 made Rutgers a reach. But I see 4.0/2000 rejections and acceptances with significantly lower GPAs and SAT/ACT scores. I’m curious if Rutgers is being bit more lenient towards OOS (revenue?). Any thoughts?
@brucemag I’m OOS and actually a resident of PA. I was admitted to Penn State Smeal which is the hardest way to get into psu, St. Andrews, and Georgetown. I was rejected by Rugers as well and was honestly really suprised given the fact that my stats are considerably higher than those admitted. I believe I states them in a recent post. Regarding Rutgers’ admissions formula, I too am completely confused. I’m not too concerned about my rejection, since I got into 3 schools which are considerably better than Rutgers.
P.S. Congrats on penn state!! It’s a beyond amazing place!!
@sammeliza97 - Hi, there must be some thing wrong; call admissions, explain to them, ask for reconsideration. With your stats you should get in SAS, RBS, SEBS, SOE & Pharmacy not sure. Call them.
Rejected at New Brunswick SAS & SEBS with 3.4 GPA & 1660 SAT. Tons of extracurricular & great essay.
how hard is the sebs school looking to get into this year?
AnalysisNow - So sorry you didn’t get in. We feel your pain. You’re a class act. Keep your head up. You’re going to do great things. Best of luck.
@dadof2s Thats what my guidance counselor told me to do. She said she was “floored” that they rejected me. Its not that Ive ever had an inkling of desire to go there when I’ve gotten into better schools, but I really just want to know what went wrong.
I am an US citizen studying in 12th grade in India. I got admitted into SEBS and SAS in Rutgers. I got the notification soon. But, I did’nt get any response till now from the school of engineering. My SAT score is 1900 and I have good scores in school. I have a score of 114 in TOEFL and I have written a good essay. I have done 3 internships and also community service for a month. SAT 2 scores for math(1)-720,chem-600 and bio- 720. I applied through regular decsion. I am really worried that there has been no response from the school of engineering except the fact that “in process” is the status of my application.
Got waitlisted for school of engineering. What to do now?
Does anyone have any information on what the waitlist looks like at sas and sebs at rutgers New Brunswick? I heard more applicants have enrolled and commited this year more than previous years. Just questioning if there will even be open seats for wailisted students?
Possibly, I doubt every accepted student will enroll. But there was a larger applicant pool and more people waitlisted this year. So even if they do go to the waitlist, it will still be very competitive. I would suggest accepting an offer of admission to another school so you don’t miss the May 1st deadline and if taken off the waitlist then accept Rutgers offer.
D was accepted to SEBS in January. She was waitlisted for SOE, but got admitted off the waitlist on 4/3. No FA from Rutgers, though. She is deciding between NYU, Rutgers and Rowan. Rowan has offered a nice merit scholarship. GPA is 3.7 SAT 1880.
@Aly310 I did commit to another school but do you know if they let you know either way on my Rutgers status somehow so at least I know if the waitlist was filled? I’m guessing they send a not admitted status but I’m not sure what the process is. It could be decided up til the end of June but hoping they send something as a courtesy at least. Thanks
If you didn’t decline admissions yet, theyll probably tell you if you were accepted off or if you were not admitted. But if you decline then theyll probably just take you off the waitlist and not tell you anything.
Has anyone who applied after the regular deadline heard back from Rutgers Camden?
