The snail mail suspence is OVER BECAUSE Got my acceptance letter today :)))
Super thrilled!!

CC put me down soo much because everybody on here basically has perfect stats…like seriously, naw man with your perfect ACT/SAT score, 3.99 UW gpa and 30 ecs, youre soo not getting in (sarcasm)
If youre still waiting for a letter, dont take the stats of these stellar people so seriously! gpa and ranking aren’t the biggest priorities. You can have a crap gpa and be a better writter and still shine brighter than somebody who has a perfect gpa. If your gpa is a bit under the radar or mediocre, your writings will bring you up by a lot, that is if they’re excellently written writings. With that being said, it really comes down to your writing portions :).

Rejected, ugh. Does anyone know how successful the appeal process is? I’m going to appeal in order to present them with my teacher recommendations that explain the hardship I’ve gone through throughout high school (close family members’ deaths) since they weren’t presented with that information in the first place.

Got my rejection letter today. Pretty disappointed as UW was the first school I visited and I fell in love with it from the first moment.
Hopefully can try to appeal. Anyone have info on the process?

3.6 UW GPA. 1760 SAT, 4 APs/Honors, good ECs, good essay. OOS.

Now, time to move on… I’m still waiting for a bunch of other schools!
I’m kind of surprised that people with lower stats than me got in, but oh well. :p

Has anyone that has got rejected/accepted received an email about the Campus Visit Program I haven’t gotten any letter yet but I’m wondering if that’s an indication that I got in. In the email it says “To help you with the exciting but challenging decision of where to go to college, we invite you to campus for Admitted Student Previews.” So it appears that it was only sent to admitted students.

@arizonakid94 I am going through the same situation as you!! Mine loaded on tuesday and i havnt got any letter yet Hopefully the loading means we have been accepted :O

Since it seems so many of you are curious about the unofficial transcripts and those denied, I thought I’d quickly post here…My son was denied today (3.6 uw gpa (yeah, a bit low), 1990 SAT, 31 ACT, APs, LOTS of EC and team captains, Eagle Scout, perfect writing score on SAT and ACT, so his essay was very good. According to all the rest of your scores, his chances seemed marginal. We are in SW Washington state. The transcripts NEVER loaded, so I think that is an indication of acceptance. Several other kids in our school were accepted (CRAZY credentials, and totally deserved to be at UW or anywhere). We didn’t really want him at UW, so we are happy. He’s okay with the decision too. :)

Forget about the gpa and stats for a little bit.
But In terms of gpa, imo it was the rigor/courseload that helped some get in who had gpa’s that were below the standard.
Ive noticed that some people who got rejected with gpa’s under the norm didnt have a heavy courseload.
Of course like 98% of the people on here have extraordinary stats, but dont let that skew your thought of getting admitted. There are MANY people with lower gpas that get admitted. Whats on college confidential is like an elite group of smarties, hehe.

On the other hand, I believe that it all comes down to the writings. You can have a great essay, but the topic might have been blunt and generic; the essay didnt stand out as much.

High or low gpa, the writings are the most important part as they reflect who you are as a person and how you stand out from the crowd.
With that being said, you should still try your best to keep your gpa up. but if anything happens, say if your gpa plunders, you will still be considered for admissions…its not like theyll automatically turn you down. I believe with my low gpa and test scores, it was the writing portion that pulled me through to the big envelope!
Also, for the five ECs writing portion, it didnt help just to write random stuff down for each portion. I have a feeling that people were focused more on the actual essays/statements that they gave more leisure to the ECs writing portion.my advise: They had to all relate to one another. It doesnt mean anything if you write 5 seperate ec portions, if you know what im saying.

@cheesewiz well everybody who has been rejected said their transcripts never loaded, so i think that is a good sign for us! but the real question is, do transcripts load for waitlisted students??
