Rejected…well UW was not my first choice but it would have been nice to be accepted. Acceptance will be better used for a student who really wanted to go :). Looks like I will be taking a full ride from my state’s university!

Also looks like major amts. of rejections came today. If your unofficial transcript has not loaded and you have not received a letter…it might be a rejection.

Accepted today, my unofficial transcript loaded 4 days ago. Stats: OOS, White female, GPA UW: 3.75, ACT: 29, SAT: 1900, Ex: Tech Crew VP, Latin Club Secretary, Teacher’s Aide, Martial Arts, Choir. Essays: Good I think?

Congrats to everyone who’s got in already! Those who are still waiting, hang in there!!

Welcome packet arrived today.

Congratulations everybody and welcome to the UW community. I hope you’ll love Seattle also.

Forgot to mention my welcome packet arrived thursday. Really exciting to recieve and look at. There’s also a picture of a delicious burger on the dining page. They sure know how to entice students :P

so did they even go to a waitlist this year? because i haven’t seen anyone waitlisted on CC

Yes, I know quite a few people who were waitlisted at my HS.

There was also a thread about being waitlisted from earlier this week. I think it’s buried by now.

The waitlist is considerably smaller than before, so compared to the zoo which was last year’s waitlist, it seems almost non-existent.

Accepted w/ a $56K scholarship OOS.

I thought UW didn’t offer OOS scholarships?

They offer a select few.

CantConcentrate probably got it through Honors or as UDUBHUSKIES said, one of the select few.

My daughter received a letter today from UW offering her a $38k scholarship; OOS.

^Probably a WUE scholarship since you’re in Alaska, am I right?

@Eskimokels: no, not a WUE scholarship, as UW does not participate in that program (only WWU, CWU, EWU and WSU, among Washington schools, do).

The scholarship was offered because she is “academically strong” and has the “…potential to contribute to the rich intellectual and cultural life that distinguishes the University of Washington,” since she is a “…U.S. non-resident student,” according to the letter.

This scholarship puts UW near/at the top of my daughter’s list of schools she’s been accepted to, since the COA is now more affordable for her/us. She really likes UW.

DennyAlaska, did your daughter apply to the Honors program? Congrats to her on the scholarship!!

Yeah, I applied to the Honors Program, but I have no idea if this scholarship is connected to them. I haven’t heard back from the HP yet and it’s near impossible to find the info for this scholarship on their website.

@extimera: no, my daughter did not apply to the Honors program. Thanks for the congrats. She really likes UW, and has visited the campus once (two summers ago) and may fly down to Seattle for another visit in April.

congrats on the scholarship. did they ask for transcripts?
