I think he wanted like actual ppl who got in not averages, since the averages are badly inflated -.-.

Really interesting none the less. Thanks for posting that.

@Shibykin - how are the averages “badly inflated”? They represent the average stats of those admitted to the school; that’s more relevant and valuable than stats of individual students. At any rate, if he’s looking for specific individual stats, they were posted previously.

Yea i made this because I was curious what scores ppl got. I’m surprised I made it in with a 3.1 UC gpa. 1390 SAT, 18 on the ACT, and somewhere by the 500s for the SAT 2. It had to be my essay because I think I got one of the best english teachers for my junior and senior year. I also did sports and joined a lot of programs outside of school.

I can’t find any kind of spread for 2010. But some more detail is available for 2009:

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/pdf/ucsc_chart.pdf

From an average score point of view, there isn’t much difference between this year and last. So, you might assume that the spread hasn’t changed much either.

Well since the averages are for all students admitted to UCSC, it doesnt show exactly the average stat for a student attending UCSC. Remember there are alot more people with high stats that apply to UCSC as a safety, than maybe UCSD. So those admitted students who apply to UCSC as a safety are also accounted for

One might be tempted to theorize a great deal on the statistics. You could come up with all kinds of reasons why the attendance statistics would or would not be higher or lower than admission statistics. But you aren’t going to get a reliable answer from that or from anecdotal data gathered from a forum thread.
