I'm wondering what my chances are of being accepted to the faculty of science as a US student born in Quebec! I've taken almost all honors and AP classes throughout high school.

ACT: 29
Math: 31
Reading: 30
English: 31
Science: 25 (I'm really concerned that since I applied to since the faculty of science, they will not accept me due to my low science score...)

VivianNgo82, McGillGuy16 is correct that you can apply to more than one faculty, and you can certainly add the Arts Faculty to your application at no extra charge. I think it is a bit easier to get into than Science, and from what I understand the interfaculty Arts & Science is the most difficult.

(Also, you don’t have to submit your ACT. Your total SAT score is quite good, and only one of subscores fall below the 670 minimum for the Science Faculty, and that is your Writing score, which I might think carries a bit less weight for an intended Science student. Your total ACT score of 29 is in itself below the stated minimum of 30 that McGill lists, with your Science subscore being the lowest. Just some food for thought…)

“Although being born in Quebec has no bearing on admission, if admitted, you will pay the low Quebec tuition rate.”

Actually, if the OP is a Canadian citizen and resides outside of Quebec, he or she will pay the out-of-province rate, not the Quebec rate. In other words, he or she will have to pay the same rate that someone from Ontario or British Columbia would pay, which is much lower than the rate for international students.

Do you have proof of citizenship? If not, start the process immediately, so you will have this proof on time. Call the closest Canadian consulate to get information on this. I went through this process for my kids, who were born in the US, but whose mother is Canadian. We filled out some paperwork, and they are now dual citizens.

Regardless of whether you decide to go to school in Canada, you should get documentation of your citizenship. That will enable you to work there if you decide to at some time in your life.

i have a quick question about the application online. what exactly am i suppose to upload for transcript if Mcgill considers the upload unofficial? and what are the supporting documents i’m suppose to upload anyways? wished there was someone that could post a step by step process…
