Admissions at McCombs

I was wondering that now since McCombs uses a holistic approach in reviewing applicants, does the AI index just narrow the applicant pool or is that what adcoms largely use for admissions decisions?

My predicament is that i have a 34 composite ACT score, however, based on the regression equation, it seems they only review English/writing and math scores (my two lowest, with a 29 and 32 respectively) A 34 would definitely make me look like a much more competitive applicant than just the stand-alone english/writing and math scores.

Would it be a good idea to retake the ACT just to bump those two specific scores? (mainly the english/writing - i got a 6 on my essay -.-)

Would they see my ACT composite?

Based on what my D and I heard this week, your ACT score of 34 is good enough. The average score of Business school admits was around 30 (and this is for non-auto admits). Just focus on your grades and ECs.

Yes, but would they see my composite or just the English/writing and math subscores?

For Business school, they look more at your Math subscores and your Composite. If you have low Math subscore - you should retake ACT; Also - it is important to take Calculus AB or BC in school. In the freshman year, they want you to take Calc I and Calc II (Differential and Integral Calculus).

Math subscore of 32 is not low. It is pretty good.
