I have gone to a college preparatory high school in Cleveland Ohio (Saint Ignatius). I have done honors and AP classes, founded a club, have had a paid internship, have worked at the same job for 3 years, have a 3.67 GPA, and a 30 ACT. What are my chances of getting accepted to The Ohio State University at Columbus main Campus? I am looking for an honest opinion. Thanks!
What does Naviance say.
The Scattergrams put me just within the green. However, there have been students that have been waitlisted at a 30 ACT and a 3.62, 31 and 3.71, 3.66, and denied at 32 and 3.5 and 34 and 3.3. I know my chances on naviance are good but I want an actual person who has experience with college admissions to give me a second opinion.
Your stats look good however it all depends what school you are applying to and what is your major.
My major is business-economics and Pre-Law. So I would be applying to the business school.
Ohio state does not admit by major or school. (https://undergrad.osu.edu/apply/freshmen-columbus/who-gets-in/enrollment-criteria) What was your club?
It was an investment club. We use a donated amount of money from the school to manage a real stock portfolio and use the returns to fund Business club expenses.
you have zero chance. Give up now. Tri C is waiting
Naviance is going to give you a more accurate response than anyone on this board. However, I would have thought a 3.67 and 30 ACT from St. Ignatius would get in. I’m wondering if the 3.71/30 either didn’t have any honors and AP classes, or if there was something in their record that wasn’t great. OSU is getting harder to get into but I would be very surprised if you didn’t get in.
Thanks, anyone else who might read this: please share your opinion it only gives me a better understanding of what I should expect my admissions decision to be.
I got in thanks for the feedback everyone
