So like many seniors, I've been suffering from bouts of senioritis, but my slacking has been pretty ridiculous compared to my peers.

I think I may end up with four B's, one B-, and one A-. Should I be worried?

“Should I be worried?”

No.

you should be worried only if you will end up with multiple C’s or a D.

it’ll affect things like say, summer internships the following year. your HS transcript isn’t just for college admissions you know.

Take it from someone who had 3 summer internships, all top quality: no one cares about your HS GPA after you enter college, unless you decide to transfer.

well probably not when you’re a second year? but I would think it’s kinda of an issue during first year

…Not really

Why would you need an internship during first year? If you’re doing one that’s dependent on grades, you’re doing too much. Even getting into research first year, they don’t care. If you’re in at UVA, you had a good HS GPA.

OP: Don’t worry about it Kick back and relax

Private pharmaceutical firms do take a look I think, for example, MedImmune, etc.

Yes, some institutions/internships do look at HS transcripts in addition to freshmen year transcript (at least, Fall semester/quarter) when a freshman is applying for a position; I have been part of vetting processes for research positions at a major medical center, and we ask for HS transcripts.

I guess e-school students tend to have an easier time?

Thanks for the replies. I’m looking to major in math and economics, so I won’t be looking for any medical internships.

In other words: “Thanks guys. Looks like I don’t have to study tonight for that bio test!”

haha all is good

School’s pretty much done for me. It’s all AP review now.

multicultural: your joke made me spit out my drink.
Are you kidding? You basically have to pull a 3.5 in weeder courses to get an internship after first year. I would have LOVED for companies to have looked at my HS GPA

I think Multicultural meant engineers have an easier time getting internships

they have a higher acceptance rate I think

I’m not suggesting anything about workload

There’s probably more available, but so many have GPA restrictions that often, many don’t fit the criteria due to tougher workloads.

So i saw dean j wrote on facebook on the class of 2014 page that we should not write about any illegal activity we participate in on the internet (duh). So if she saw a kid write on his “looking for a roommate” profile that he smokes weed, would that kid possibly have his admission rescinded? i don’t think it would but maybe i’m wrong.

people admit to underage drinking… so
