Admissions Calls

After 4 days of missing the call, I was finally home when they called me today. The person who called me said that they are calling “a select number of students” who have been admitted, but that everyone who was not called will be notified of their admission (online) after next week. So don’t stress out if you haven’t received an admission phone call, I’m assuming they don’t have the time to call everyone, in the mean time, best of luck :)

I received the call today. I wasn’t able to answer the call though. But when I saw the 858 area code I literally jumped like 5 feet in the air. I called the number to make sure it was them, and sure enough it was.

Oh and do they try to call you again?

I got an admissions call, and I’m in Arizona too! So happy  Oh and to CADREAMIN’s post: I am a URM, so that might have had something to do with it

Would anyone mind posting the number?

I got the call yesterday (and missed it)! I’m really excited about it :)

@margiem315 Look out for an 858 area code!

@babyaztec thanks will do! I missed a few calls the day before and was wondering.

those who got the call, does your UCSD portal say you’re accepted?

two questions.
1: Did you receive the call on your home phone or cell phone?
2: To those who got the call, but weren’t home the first couple of times, did they leave a message?
3: To those who got the call, when did they say they would be finished calling everyone?
(feeling a little edgy here; I have 2 missed calls, both during the school day with no message or number left.)

Just curious, for those of you who have gotten the phone call, have any of you been told why? Like have they told you that you’re a regent’s scholar? Thanks

Daughter got the call here in Illinois Thursday. Non-minority. Given congratulations and told that they would be in Chicago area in a few weeks if we wanted to meet. Told the info would be online in week or so. Didn’t mention scholarship $.

@Mmmmom - is your daughter an engineering major? Congratulations!

I haven’t gotten a call… I’m a bit anxious to hear back.
Do you know when they usually post their admission decisions online?
When did they post their decisions last year?

@ID80ChE - Yes, she’s an engineering major.

@stephieism - My daughter said the admissions counselor said they would release their decisions on March 16th. They posted them last year on the 17th at 9am CST.

Hello everyone. I receive a call from UCSD as well and I was told I got in, but when I applied to UCSD I didn’t know much about them. Now that California is an option I am kinda excited. I applied to Stanford, but I am fairly sure I won’t get in. However, I’d love to go to California ( I live in North Carolina) and now that it’s an option I’d like to learn more. Could anyone perhaps direct me to a thread on this topic? If you have any information yourself I’d love to hear it as well.

Hey guys just to give hopes i got in yesterday i got a call afterschool and i only have a 1850 SAT score and 3.9 UC GPA into Computer and Electrical engineering. those are below the schools average i believe. Good luck

^that’s really reassuring, thanks bud. (:

etg2013, they called my house. I wasn’t home until the fourth day & yes they leave a message saying that they are calling from UCSD and are looking for (your name here). They said they are only calling a few people.

salzburg, I received the phone call last week and my online portal is still as pending. All accounts (even if you got a phone call) will post admission starting March 16.

Thanks Missy, that clears that up then. It seems I will find out next Saturday then. :)

@Clawkz- You just made my day! I basically have the same stats as you and you just gave me a little bit of hope! Thank you!

Six more days!
