I have a quick question…my son was accepted Nov. 20th. He received a letter from Fisher College that says “you have been admitted to the Fisher College of Business as a pre-major program student. Pre-major program students will enroll in required business foundation courses during the Freshman year. Eligible pre-major students typically apply to the major after the first year. Admission to the major program and desired specialization is competitive based on successful completion of required coursework and a minimum grade point average.”
It goes on to say “we look forward to welcoming you to the Fisher College community and to The Ohio State University.”
I just want to clarify if he is a “direct” admit? I guess I was looking for those words. He did get a 30 on his ACT which I believe is requirement for Direct admit. I know this is probably dumb question but if anyone knows, I would appreciate it!!
@Rams80 I never got the admissions letter from Fisher so I emailed them to ask them about direct admittance and the counselor told me “You are indeed part of our direct admit class. Once your notification of University admissions has been mailed, you will then receive a letter regarding your FisherDirect admission.Sorry about the confusion” I got a 1320 SAT and top 10% so I also qualified according to their website. I don’t know anything about that pre-major program but if your confused I’d email Fishers undergraduate admission and they will verify your direct admit status. Don’t forget to give them your ID number when you email.

Friday’s after 3:00 is usually when they start flowing out so fingers crossed!!
@jakeybake is it every friday though? or every other friday? because if it is every other friday, they released a wave last week so this Friday wouldn’t be a decision day.
I heard that they switched from bi-weekly waves to doing weekly waves, can anyone confirm this?

@kau123 nope, nothing. Still evaluation.
Just checked and my son did get admitted today - I checked earlier this morning and he was still in evaluation status so it definitely changed today. And of course it did because I just composed and hit publish on our Christmas card with the brief yearly summary on the back and noted that he had applied but was still waiting for a decision.

My son accepted today! He applied on October 24th if memory serves. I saw it on the portal but he has no idea. I guess it takes about a week for the letters to arrive according to the admissions office, who I just called. They send them out each Monday. It’s going to be a long week!! My son is going to be thrilled!!!
Also, we are OOS in Massachusetts.
@KatieRose Thank you so much for the advice about contacting Fisher, as it turns out, they apologized for sending out wrong letter and are correcting that. He is in fact Direct admit. Glad he emailed them!
