Nothing yet today. The anticipation!
Accepted RD. I was deferred EA. OOS from NJ, no FA info yet.
@Batron34 Congrats to you! Still waiting here but happy for you.
Do you mind sharing your stats? @Batron34
When to expect housing contract if I paid my acceptance fee in early March?
how did you find out? did your status change on the portal or did you receive an email?
Wait listed… Up to her whether she wants to hang on… But with Pitt, Penn State, UConn all accepting … We’re in a good place!
My son and I spent last weekend at OSU. We were totally impressed. He loved everything about it. The size, the buildings, the students and the overall vibe. We hit the OSU-ND lacrosse game at the stadium and he hung out with an older friend of his at his frat house. For those who haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favor and take the trip, it’s well worth it! Less than two hours by plane from Boston and only an hour and twenty minute flight home. Closer than we thought!
Waitlisted, it said he can join the waitlist or accept other options. Not sure what that means, perhaps a different major other then business.
@njhockeydad Same here–waitlisted and had applied to Business. Same notice–wait for the “wait offer” letter and see what options are. I looked at 2010 comments, and it looked like there was a summer option. Then I looked at threads from last year at this time, and it looks like there may not be a summer option. The threads from last year made it sounds like many people were waitlisted and then accepted within 60 days after that. I am rather crushed but am still going to try to go for it and hope for the best–really want to go there.
@njhockeydad and @Weshallsee If you google the Common Data Set for Ohio State University for 2015-2016 you will see in Part C (First-time, First Year Freshman admission) that 1,556 applicants were offered a spot on the wait list. Only 304 accepted a place on the wait list and all 304 who accepted a spot on the waitlist were admitted. It does not say when they were admitted, but based on threads from last year it appears within 60 days. My guess is that after the May 1 deadline passes there will be spots opening up.
@TRACKMBE3 Thank you! I was just looking at that–I appreciate your quick information–I’m not going to give up!
I see that 100% of those who accepted the waitlist were admitted for 2015 and 2014 but that none were the prior two years–still concerned about that but going for it.
@dadof2020and2024 How did you find out?? Like a letter? & what are her stats if you don’t mind
Wait listed for bussiness as well…
@Katiemilesky found out online. I’ve posted her stats online a few pages back. Really not sweating it at this point, plenty of great schools that accepted her. OSU has obviously been successful in upping their academic prestige, good for them!
What do you guys think are the chances for someone to get off the wait list this year?
@gurney not sure. My son has decided not to wait. He had a 3.7 GPA and a 30 on the ACT. OSU probably would have been one of his top choices. He applied to 9 schools, was rejected from Wisconsin and deferred at OSU and accepted to the other 7 (Maryland, Alabama, Indiana, Mich St, Syracuse, Buffalo, Minnesota) He has decided on Alabama. Ohio State has done a great job of raising their academic profile. Its a great school. Best of luck to all who are attending and who are going on the waitlist!
I do not know about the wait list chances but my DS has done his part by declining his admission. Now it is a matter of how accurate their estimate was of those that would matriculate.
I as well got accepted into Mich St.(my top choice as of right now) Buffalo and others but a 30 on the ACT and didn’t get into Ohio state…that sucks, but Alabama is a fine institute as well
Hi guys! Not entirely sure if I’m going to Ohio State but I have a few questions. I want to major in Computer Science (engineering school) but I’m split between Ohio State and University of Minnesota. Ohio State is cheaper by $7000. Any thoughts/suggestions as to which school I should choose?
