@flsenior2010 No he in no way is discouraged. To be honest I don’t even think he’s checking the portal for OSU. As I told you after he applied at the last second on December 29 as a spur of the moment decision to do so, he then realized that doing so for him it’s probably not a smart idea because he knows that a large campus such as OSU would not be beneficial to him and he would not be successful there which is why he didn’t even bother having his AC T scores sent there.
@Banker1 Congrats on your Daughters acceptance! Any word yet if it’s to the Honors program and direct admittance to nursing?

My D was accepted a while back if you remember to Pre-nursing program. I think she will pick PITT though as it’s direct entry. We shall see if there’s any $$$ coming from Ohio State to help persuade us. Anyways congrats to her and hopefully she got into Honors!
My DS received an email last night just before midnight stating that he had been accepted. I can’t remember what he had as his intended major, but it is either pre-med or biology. I was a bit surprised that he got an email rather than a notification to check the portal. States he will be getting information in the regular mail shortly which will answer any further questions.
I thought I read somewhere that results only came out on Fridays, confusing?
@Momto4kids he probably didn’t check his portal on Friday. It goes on the portal before the email. My sister saw her acceptance on the portal on Friday, and received the email last night as well.
@Collegedad33 thanks for the encouragement. My D reached out to Admissions team and let them know when she’d be planning a visit and to see how they could accommodate her. She asked about direct entry possibility and was told it’s pre-Nursing with students applying to the program their freshman year. They also told her to check with the Nursing college about their availability during her visit. So they didn’t offer to coordinate any of the needed resource scheduling there.
My D will wait for her mailed offer package to see if it includes any information about Merit or Honors acceptance. She doesn’t care for Honors but applied to that only because we had heard/read that Honors acceptance was required for direct entry Nursing.
Wait! - this just in…
She just got an email from David Wallace from the Office of Enrollment Services thanking her for her inquiries including setting up her campus visit. In this letter includes this statement
“I can also confirm you have been directly admitted into the nursing program.” Go figure.
@Banker1 That’s great! It’s a really good nursing program.
I’m sincerely happy for her and you. I called and emailed to inquire about direct admission and if there was anything we could do…they sent a email saying I’d get a response via email with in 3-5 days…that was weeks ago so I’m not holding my breath. Still waiting for Penn State and UCONN but we are leaning PITT. Seems to risky to pass up in hopes that Pre-nursing leads to nursing year 2 at Ohio State. Congrats!

When should we expect to receive financial aid information? And when will we hear about honors and scholars?
@laurenellierose0, I don’t know if the change in color matters, but I do know that deferred usually do not hear back until after all EA decisions are out and actually become a part of the regular Admissions process. The good news of course is you were not declined. Remember delayed does not mean denied. A lot will depend on the number of people who accept from those admitted and how many spots are left after some of those decline.
my mom called osu and they said they still have some EA people that will find out by the end of this month which I would assume it means this friday?

I called too - when they said “the end of the month”, they would not confirm it was this Friday. They said by 1/31. Hopefully it will be Friday - this is taking way too long!
@hannah2018 I’d estimate about three weeks. I was accepted in the 12/15 wave and heard back about scholars on 1/3 and MSP on 1/5. Someone said on the scholarship thread that most scholarships will go out in February.
When my daughter called the women said by Friday, so we are thinking tomorrow since they seem to only release on Fridays.

For anyone who applied to osu scholars/honors/Morrill on coalition, if you haven’t heard a response about a program yet, contact admissions because even tho I applied to scholars and Morrill on coalition, they didn’t receive the app to those programs so I never heard back. They said there was a glitch in coalition and they’re now reviewing everything
