Admissions Decisions for Transfer Spring 2011

Does anyone know when transfers students receive admissions decisions? I've heard there's a certain time that all freshmen get their decisions each semester and I don't know if it's the same for transfer students. I applied for Spring 2011 as an English (Writing, Editing and Media) Major over 3 weeks ago and they've got all my papers and transcripts, even my residency form and nothing's changed in 2 and a half weeks since. I'm kind of pressed for time and I've already been accepted into USF and UT but I don't want to make a decision until I know what’s up with FSU.

Also, I don't know if that rule still applies about Florida public universities automatically accepting transfers with their AA but what do any of you think my chances are of getting in?

High School GPA: 3.2
1 DE Credit, 1 Honors Credit
High School Newspaper, Literary Magazine, Journalism Honors. GSA, Poetry Club, Literature Club, Japanese Animation Club.
I won a couple accomplishment awards.
I also did some volunteer work over the years at an ESE Center

CC GPA: 3.551
61 Credits at graduation
PTK-National Honor Society of the 2 year College, PTK Chapter Fellowship Teamleader/Officer, Ethics Club

ACT Composite: 24 with Writing

Thanks =)

In Florida, with an AA, one is guaranteed admission to one Florida University, not necessarily the one of the student’s choice.

I think you are likely in. But 3 weeks is not a long time the way FSU looks over admission info. I know you are anxious to here. Sit tight. You can call and inquire. You could call and speak with a transfer admissions counselor, mention that you have other acceptances but FSU is your top choice. Perhaps they can give you an idea of when they might decide.

For transfers, your file is evaluated by admissions AND the department/major you are applying for. So it takes a little time. It is likely at the English department now.
